Kathryn Wolfe

Kathryn is a materials chemist and PhD candidate at the University of Calgary developing sustainable sensing materials for food safety monitoring. With over 15 years in the food and beverage industry, she bridges scientific innovation with real-world application to drive product development at Chromasense. An active member of the UCalgary entrepreneurial community, Kathryn received the an Inspiration Award (Evolve to Innovate 2024) and is the recipient of several prestigious research scholarships, including the NSERC Canada Graduate Scholarship (CGS-D) and Alberta Innovates Graduate Student Scholarship.

Parker is a materials chemist and MSc candidate at the University of Calgary, specializing in sustainable materials and product innovation. Coming from a family of entrepreneurs and with hands-on experience in the food and beverage industry, she brings both technical and business insight to Chromasense’s development efforts. An active member of the UCalgary entrepreneurial community and Evolve to Innovate alumna, Parker won a pitch competition at Inventures 2025, recognizing her leadership in science-based innovation for sustainable food systems.

Gregory Welch

Greg is a Professor of Chemistry at the University of Calgary and a Parex Innovation Fellow, recognized for his leadership in sustainable materials and printable electronics. His pioneering research in organic chemistry and materials science has earned him multiple distinctions, including the Killam Emerging Research Leader Award, the Faculty of Science Award of Excellence – Early Career, and recognition as a Peak Scholar in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. With over 150 publications and numerous patents, Greg brings deep expertise in materials design, green chemistry, and technology commercialization to the Chromasense team.
